Healthcare Flexible Spending Account
Reimbursed items cannot be claimed again on an income tax return. Please note: Insurance premiums are not reimbursed through this benefit. Premiums are covered under the group health and supplemental premiums benefit, not the Healthcare FSA, and are remitted directly to the provider on the participant's behalf.

Over-the-counter items under the
Healthcare Flexible Spending Account
You may use your Flexible Spending Account to purchase over-the-counter items that are not considered a drug or a medicine such as bandages, wound care, contact lens solution, etc.
Effective January 1, 2011, Flexible Spending Account money may be used to purchase over-the-counter drugs and medicines such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen or cough syrup with a note of medical necessity (NMN) or a prescription from your doctor. A copy of the prescription or NMN for over-the-counter medications is required once a year for claims payment.
