Consolidated Appropriations Act FAQs on Health & Dependent Care FSAs

It has been a month since President Trump signed into law new economic relief called the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) 2021. The relief contained provisions affecting Health FSAs and Dependent Care FSAs.
We are still awaiting further guidance from the IRS and other regulatory agencies regarding what is permitted under the relief. In the meantime, Chard Snyder has compiled these helpful FAQs regarding the provisions and their impact, based on what we know today.
Optional Plan Changes for Health FSAs & Dependent Care FSAs
Employers have the option to implement the permitted changes (they are not mandatory) without the need to make immediate plan document amendments.
